Ashley Michelle lived her life in the fast lane for more than 20 years. From late night bartending shifts to fronting lead vocals for bands, hosting karaoke/DJ’ing and organizing a diverse range of events; the pace never slowed. As vodka infused nights faded into one another, Ashley found herself growing tired of the crazy late-night lifestyle and craved a change. And change she did... 2015 was the year that the shift started to happen. Ashley enrolled herself in a 6-month meditation course that eventually landed her in Thailand!
Spending 15 days on a retreat, living on Buddhist temple grounds and hiking a mountain, Ashley not only gained her meditation certificate, but she was also asked to sing in front of thousands at the closing ceremonies for all the Monks and guests in attendance. Returning from Thailand, Ashley was eager to get on her Yoga mat and felt inspired to deepen her practice.
After a few years of research and “waiting for the right time,” Ashley signed herself up for the first of many Yoga Teacher Training Programs. After eight months of an intensive 200HR Hatha Yoga Training, Ashley was certified – she started teaching the minute she walked out the door.
“It’s taken a LOT of hard work and dedication to rise from my ‘late-night-rock-diva’ lifestyle. There comes a time in everyone’s life when you just need to grow. That lifestyle gets tiring, you know? I’ve quit smoking, I’ve chosen a 100 per cent vegan lifestyle and I've ditched the drinks completely. I believe we all just want to be the best version of ourselves and YOGA helps me with that. ”
In 2018 Ashley became certified with Yoga Alliance International and committed to continuing her Yoga education.
In February of 2020 Ashley manifested her wildest dreams yet! Planning, organizing and hosting a Yoga Retreat in Costa Rica! A labour of love that took nearly 14 months to pull off and a trip that she will cherish for a lifetime!
Ashley recently became a 500HR RYT and is currently building her dream yoga studio on her property out in the country!
